Avanti’s Italian Restaurant
Bloomington, IL

USAgain is proud to be partnered with Avanti’s Italian Restaurant in Bloomington to recycle surplus clothing and shoes. Local businesses like Avanti’s are the backbone of USAgain’s textile recycling operations. Without sponsors like Avanti’s, diverting textile waste from landfills would be impossible.

Avanti’s combines a family friendly atmosphere with an affordable menu and great service. The result is a great Italian dining experience without breaking the bank. You can’t go into Avanti’s without trying the fresh baked Italian bread, which is made from scratch. Also on the menu are pasta, sandwiches and pizza, all of which are delicious and available via carry-out, dine-in and delivery.

The partnership with USAgain shows Avanti’s is more than just a great place to eat – it’s a business with green initiatives. Avanti’s serves great food without compromising the environment and the future.

“We partnered with USAgain to do our part in helping those less fortunate to receive reusable clothes and shoes,” says Rich Zeller, Co-Owner and President of Avanti’s. “The money we receive per pound of textiles collected is then donated to a local charity.”

Next time you stop by Avanti’s for some pasta and fresh bread, bring any unwanted clothing and shoes sitting around your home. When you eat at Avanti’s you can rest assured you’re supporting a restaurant that’s committed to environmental sustainability.

Winter coats donated to Chicago-area Boys & Girls Club

s part of a wider initiative partnering with Boys & Girls Clubs across the country, USAgain’s local division donated 120 lbs of winter apparel – including coats, gloves and hats – to the Boys & Girls Club in Elgin, IL. USAgain Chicago division manager Doug McCreight visited with some members of the club, displaying the coats on a table from which the kids and/or their parents could choose an item to take home.

USAgain donated all of its gently used outerwear collected in their bins to Boys and Girls Clubs during the week of December 10, 2012. Donations will remain in the communities where they are collected, meaning a jacket donated in the Chicago area will be distributed to a child or family in need in Chicago.

The campaign is running in 10 cities where USAgain warehouse divisions are located: Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, New York, Pennsylvania, St. Louis, San Francisco, and Seattle.
